What is a VA?

Click on each question to reveal the answers.

What is a Virtual Assistant?

A Virtual Assistant (VA) is a highly-skilled, independent self employed professional who provides administrative, technical and/or creative business support services off site from their own office.

What a Virtual Assistant isn't ...

VAs are not (virtual) employees (like the ones you would find in India or the Philippines, not that there is anything wrong with that). They are not cheap labour nor subordinates and they certainly don't work for free or $4.00 an hour. They are business owners just like YOU.

Do I need to pay taxes?

No need to worry about administering Superannuation, PAYG Tax, Holiday Pay, Sick Leave, etc. - All of these expenses are included in the hourly rate or package that is agreed upon with you and your VA.

What about a Temp? Are they better?

Temporary staff are exactly that, temporary. There is no guarantee that you will get the same person if you need them ad hoc, therefore time is wasted on retraining and getting to know each other.

Do I need to provide an office, equipment or training?

No overheads. You don't pay for electricity, gas, water, tea, coffee or biscuits. No need to provide valuable office space and equipment - a VA works from their own premises with their own equipment.

How does it work?

Work out what services you need, call me or email me to have a chat and then we can arrange either a face-to-face meeting or a Skype chat to further discuss if needed. An Agreement to Hire is required to be signed by both parties and that's about it. Either we can work out a package to suit your needs or pay only for the time worked. No time wasted on breaks, chatting on the phone or dealing with personal issues. You pay for and get 100% productivity for your dollar.
